Who We Are
We are husband and wife, both full time musicians. We got married in March of 2023 and have since been pursuing a life full of music together. We have many overlapping goals and projects including composing, making albums, playing for events, and going on tours together.
Truly, we are blessed to get to do what we do together. We are both believers in Christ and that has been an integral part of our journeys, both personally and together. Although we don’t yet know what plans are in store for us, we are doing our best with what we know now and working hard pouring our time, energy, heart and passion into what we believe is right!
That currently includes recording and producing a full length instrumental worship album, using our 3 main instruments (piano, fiddle, and cello), with the hope to be able to share the CDs freely!

About Nathan
Hi, my name is Nathan Townley! I come from a family of 6 boys and my brothers and I grew up playing at churches in the Townley Family Band. I always loved music and performance. The yearning to be creative and express myself has driven me to dedicate my life to being the best musician I can. At 15 I studied jazz piano under John Gonsalves, a WW2 Veteran and retired band teacher. I spent my high school days playing as much jazz as possible when I wasn’t playing on one of the many church worship teams I was a part of.
In 2018 I got the opportunity to go to Ireland and fell in love with Irish music - everything about it. The culture around art and music there is just wonderful and wholesome. This led me on a great adventure learning many beautiful tunes on the pennywhistle, melodica, Irish bouzouki, bodhrán, and the Irish Bones! In 2022, I composed a full album of Irish music. It’s called ‘Butterflies’. More details on that here!
About Alisha
Hi! My name is Alisha Townley, and I’m a 3rd generation fiddler from Northern California. Music has always been the most enriching and inspiring part of my life. With my sister and my amazing mom, Melissa Troberg-Southwick, I grew up going to tons of music festivals, playing in contests, listening in on rehearsals, going to gigs, and watching my mom studio record and perform all over. It was an amazing ride, adventure, and it ignited a fire in me to pursue music in a similar way!
I started playing cello in 2021. It hasn’t been long, but it has been in full, sure pursuit. My biggest inspiration to start was seeing Rushad Eggleston play in Crooked Still as a kid. I have many memories listening to those albums on repeat the year the ipod mini was released. Tristan Clarridge has been my teacher: an incredible example of a musician and teacher through and through, patient, insightful, and creative, and encouraging. My hope is to pass along the kind of fuel and education he has provided me to many people.
Other most influential and inspiring teachers have been master fiddlers: Tashina Clarridge-Lindley, Megan Lynch, my own mother Melissa Troberg-Southwick, and others. I so grateful for everything that has been poured into my musical education and upbringing. Hence, teaching is one of my greatest joys: I want to pour into fiddlers of all ages, show them what there is to love about music, teach the fiddle, and help them every way I can along their journey!
